Duke McFadden, songwriter, lead vocalist and keyboards, grew up in Malibu riding the waves at Surfrider Beach until his passion for music dictated that he follow that path only. Relocated to LA from the bustling Detroit music scene was Kevin Russell an extremely gifted lead guitar player, songwriter and vocalist. Jim McClarty, songwriter, drummer and talented vocalist in his own right, and Phil Bryant the somewhat shy yet extremely talented bass player with the big voice that grabbed your attention with that famous line “I COULD BE GOOD FOR YOU”, he also put the heart and soul into the beautiful ballads ONE WAY HIGHWAY and LADY.
These four who called themselves 707 ended up taking the Sunset Strip, West Hollywood scene by storm. Crowds lined up around the block every weekend to hear them play. They had the ability to blow the roof off whatever venue they were in. When they played the Greek Theater, the music shot straight to the stars. It was standing room only and to me it’s like it was yesterday, or maybe even tomorrow night, after all it was Magic.
This CD consists of the songs that allowed them to grab that brass ring. The songs you will hear here, were recorded live at Fidelity Studios in Hollywood. In listening to this CD you will travel back in time and be one of us who stood or sat in the clubs and listened over and over and over again. The energy in these performances is tremendous, each song special in it’s own way. The songs are all the original material of the band, written by some members together and some by a single member alone
