This album features Rachel Sweet, a talented singer born in Akron, Ohio, who began her singing career at a very young age. Initially recording country music with limited success, she transitioned to rock and roll and signed with Stiff Records. Her debut album, "Fool Around," released in 1978, showcased her impressive vocal abilities. Despite Stiff Records' unconventional approach to promotion, Sweet's music stood out for its quality. "Alive In America" is a live concert album produced by Renaissance Records, capturing Sweet's performances from 1979 and 1980.
